Philippe NGUYEN Thanh Thiên est né en 1962 au Vietnam de parents vietnamien et anglais.
Il pratique les arts martiaux depuis 1970 et le Kinomichi depuis 1980. Son premier maître en Kinomichi a été Maître Lucien FORNI. De 1982 à 1984 et depuis 2000, il suit les cours de Maître Masamichi NORO.
Il a étudié en parallèle le Judo, l'Aïkido, le Tai Chi Chüan Ecole Chen avec Maître WANG Yang et le Kenjutsu de la Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu où il est jusqu'en 2006 l'élève direct du Grand Maître IWAMI Toshio sohke. Il a fait plusieurs voyages d'étude au Japon pour approfondir la Voie du sabre auprès de ce maître. Il a également été l'organisateur pour cette école de deux stages internationaux à PARIS en 2004 et 2005 qui ont été l'occasion de faire découvrir en Europe la prestigieuse école de Miyamoto Musashi. Il a écrit des articles sur les arts martiaux (notamment "Dans la spirale du Kinomichi"), la culture et la philosophie orientales dans le magazine Dragon pour lesquels il a sollicité des auteurs et des spécialistes de ces différents domaines.
Il enseigne aux enfants et aux adultes. Les cours ont lieu à Paris et à Vincennes. A Paris, ils sont bilingues : anglais et français. Les élèves sont de nationalités diverses (une dizaine) et leur âge a varié entre 4 et 72 ans.

Philippe NGUYEN Thanh Thien was born in 1962 in Vietnam of Vietnamese and English parents.
He has been practicing the martial arts since 1970 and Kinomichi since 1980. His first master in Kinomichi was Master Lucien FORNI. From 1982 and since 2000, he follows the courses of Master Masamichi NORO.
He has studied, in parallel, Judo, Aikido, Tai Chi Chuan Chen School with Master WANG Yang and Kenjutsu of the Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu where he was the direct student of Grand Master IWAMI Toshio sohke until 2006. He journeyed a number of times to Japan to deepen his understanding of the Way of the sword at the side of this master. In addition, he organized two international workshops in Paris in 2004 and 2005 for this school, which was the first time this prestigious school of Miyamoto Musashi was introduced in Europe. He has written articles on the martial arts (notably "Within the Spiral of Kinomichi), culture and oriental philosophy in Dragon magazine.
He teaches children and adults. The courses are conducted in Paris and in Vincennes. In Paris, classes are bi-lingual in French and English. His students have diverse nationalities (about a dozen) and their age ranges from 4 to 72.
