What is PranaStretch?
"Prana" means vital energy, and breath in Sanskrit. PranaStretch is an approach to and from yoga that uses the breath to release tension, increase flexibility and build strength. By letting go of tension, the body begins to reclaim its flexibility, develop efficient core strength and optimal alignment. The class gives you the time and space to rediscover your center and listen to your body. It is a non-competitive, total body "tune in" -- a deeply strengthening yet profoundly relaxing workout.
PranaStretch is based on the work of Eric BEELER who, during his life, taught "American Yoga" to professional dancers in New York. In addition to its yogic base and foundational links with Pilates, Alexander and Niklaus Techniques, PranaStretch also incorporates elements from Kinomichi and dance. It speaks and responds to the dance of each breath. It is designed so that each person can enjoy and benefit from it.
